Counselling & Psychotherapy

Our counsellors are all qualified counsellors and members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). They abide by the BACP code of Ethics.

Our counsellors are:

Sala Lawrence MBACP

Sala has been counselling adults and young people in the Reading and Newbury
area since she qualified to work in agencies in 2004. In 2006, she qualified to work in private practice with an Advanced Diploma in Integrated Humanistic Counselling, and went on to graduate with a BA (Hons) in Counselling.

She is experienced in a range of issues including: bereavement and loss; anger; stress; anxiety; depression; life stage problems; self-esteem; confidence; relationships; abuse; and alcohol. She also takes a special interest in issues related to Asperger's Syndrome.

Sala works with individuals and couples to help improve their lives and relationships. She will work with young people (aged 11+) as individuals or with a parent depending on what is appropriate.

Janet Baldock MBACP

Janet qualified as a counsellor in 1998, has been accredited with BACP since 2000 and completed a MSc in Counselling from Bristol University in 2006. She works with people who are experiencing difficulties coping with stress, anxiety, depression and relationships.

She has, over the years worked in a variety of settings and now, as well as counselling one to one with individuals, she supervises counsellors and works in further education as a tutor of counselling skills.

Janet is also qualified to work with parents who may be in need of support as they cope with difficulties with their children.

Rajinder Hodge MBACP

Rajinder has spent many years working as a volunteer for Basingstoke Rape and
Sexual Abuse Crisis Centre and has extensive experience in counselling
adult survivors of sexual abuse. She also counsels individuals who suffer from
anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, grief, migration issues, etc.

Rajinder provides a confidential, non-judgemental space for clients to work
through their issues. She has experience of multi-cultural counselling and counsels in English, Punjabi and Hindi.

On an ongoing basis, Rajinder attends courses that enhance her counselling
practice and that in turn helps her work with her clients.
